Review For PIRJ

Guidelines for Reviewers

Peer review is an essential component of the publication process. Pillar Interdisciplinary Research Journal (PIRJ) relies on the expertise of reviewers to maintain the quality and integrity of the research we publish.

Double-Blind Peer Review

PIRJ operates a strict double-blind peer review process. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not disclose their identities to authors or discuss the manuscript with external parties during the review process.

Ethical Responsibilities

  • Confidentiality: Treat the manuscript and all related materials as confidential documents.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest (financial, institutional, collaborative, or personal) that might bias your review. Decline to review if a conflict exists.
  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Express your views clearly with supporting arguments.
  • Constructive Feedback: Provide clear, constructive feedback aimed at helping authors improve their manuscript.

Review Report Structure

  • General Comments: Provide a brief summary of the paper and comment on its overall contribution, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Specific Comments to Authors: Detail areas for improvement regarding methodology, results, discussion, and clarity. Point out specific sections or lines that require revision.
  • Confidential Comments to Editors: Include any remarks meant solely for the editorial team, such as concerns regarding plagiarism or fundamental flaws.

Review Timelines

Timely reviews are appreciated. We ask reviewers to complete their evaluation within the specified timeframe (usually 3-4 weeks). Please inform the editorial office immediately if you require an extension or cannot complete the review.
